The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski

Your life is your life

Don't let it be clubbed into dank submission

Be on the watch.

There are ways out.

There is a light somewhere.

It may not be much light but

It beats the darkness.

Be on the watch.

The gods will offer you chances.

Know them.

Take them.

You can't beat death but

You can beat death in life, sometimes.

And the more often you learn to do it,

The more light there will be.

Your life is your life.

Know it while you have it.

You are marvellous.

The gods wait to delight

In you.

Debussy - Claire de Lune by Orchestre Radio - Symphonique de Paris

When I started this blog many years ago what I had in mind was to post my musings, thoughts, favourite extracts of books I read, poems and music which I love and has been accompanying me like a good friend for years on end. For the last seven or so years I decided to use photos of mine when I post otherwise I give credit to the person who took the picture I am using.

A fellow blogger informed me the other day that one of my photos is circulating on Facebook ( the one I posted on May 1st ). I do not have a FB account, nor Instagram/Twitter/MeWe, they're not my cup of tea...Well, different strokes for different folks as the saying goes :)
Ι don't understand - and never will -  the concept of taking someone's photos and presenting them as your own, I find it unethical, still, this is a reality, this is the world we live in...

Photography is my hobby. I've been taking photos for more than twenty-five years. First, it was my father's Lubitel 2 in the early '80s trying to figure out how it worked ( my gosh!... ) and ending up with too many rolls of film, half of which were blurry. Then a Pentax came into my life, a gift from my dear cousin in Sydney when he first visited Greece in 1988. A lot of things changed since then. Digital cameras have become a reality and I had been using a digital Sony from 2004 onwards but at some point in 2012 it broke down. I started saving and in February 2014 I bought a Canon Eos Rebel T3i which I am still using.

Don't get me wrong, I don't claim to be a photographer. But I love taking photos and keep learning new things. I don't use Photoshop or LR as I am not that tech-savvy. Sometimes if the camera is not handy I use my mobile phone. As simple as that :)

Speaking of which, I was on my way home from work yesterday and the cloud formations I saw in the sky brought a smile on my face, made me change my route, pull over and gaze at them for a while. It was a lovely sight especially after the rain we had the previous days. So here are some takes from Vathi, an area in the town I live where I pulled over and marvelled at the clouds.

Don't tell me the moon is shining;

show me the glint of light on broken glass
